Believe it when I see it...
I can't help but be a little sceptical about comments like this. Thus far I have seen only one - ONE monitor without a VGA port, and that is the 30" Dell. Indeed, many high end laptops still sport a VGA port as their primary external output.If VGA hasn't died yet, then why on earth should DVI disappear in such a short space of time?
HDMI = DVI + Audio
HDMI is, for video signals, electrically identical to DVI-D Dual-Link. You can get cables from £2.50 for a 1m cable from one supplier, and that's a gold-plated nonsense so it's probably cheaper elsewhere.You do lose the analog compatibility from DVI-I, though - these new connectors are digital-only. Will they replace the old VGA port, or will cards continue to carry one?
