Macbook Air is air traveller's headache

US AIRPORT security is causing a headache for Macheads who try to fly with their ironically titled Macbook Air laptops.
Engadget is reporting how travellers are complaining how security officers, who, let's face it are not the sharpest tools in the box, were looking at the Macbook Air and thinking it a fake.
They assumed because it didn't have a disk drive and was too thin, it must be a fake and packed with explosives.
One security guard complained there was no ports in the back, something that reviewers have also objected to.
Usually the security people call other security people to look at the beast before letting the person fly on. This leads us to believe that they don't really believe the Apple Air to be a bomb but either like the novelty or just like annoying people.
Usually, Macheads have to explain what an SSD is and since this takes time it does tend to slow the line up a bit.
Advice to travellers who have an Air is to either leave it at home or allow plenty of time to clear security.
If you don't have one of the latest Apple toys, but you see an extra smug person in the line with an Apple computer case it might be a good idea to change queues. µ
