Kodak abandoning Harrow helps make money

And did we say Rochester, NY?

FILMIC FIRM Eastman Kodak turned in a profit after cutting costs in local city Harrow, London, and Rochester NY.

The firm – a major force in the shape of the so-called “Brownie” camera, made a net profit of $215 million in its latest quarter.

Realistically, Eastman Kodak should have been at the cutting edge of digital cameras, but it found itself between a silver nitrate and a gold edge.

Said CEO Antonio Perez: “Our restructuring is over.”

Here in Harrow, London, there are many people bewailing and beweeping the restructuring, which probably should have happened 12 years back. Eastman Kodak was a late comer to the age of digicams.

These days, silver is cheap, but still a precious metal. µ
