Stories from antinquity Linux geeks moan about Microsoft

PLUS CA CHANGE. On this very date five years ago, the Inq was reporting on Penguin fanciers complaining to the EU about Microsoft dumping Xboxes on the market at less than cost.

The Xbox Linux Project claimed that the games console was being made and sold at a loss, while being subsidised from the money made from the monopoly Microsoft had in the operating systems arena.

They further claimed that the Xbox was a standard PC, but that Microsoft had added arcane and evil mechanisms so that only software approved by it could run on the machine.

Whatever happened to Linux, eh?

Nostalgia ain't what it used to be. Reboot your memory here. µ
