Gutterwatch They're full of it
AMD IS YET to announce the lay-offs we told the world about last night. The story has been picked up by news channels worldwide with places like Cnet giving credit where credit's due.
One place that seems reluctant to give credit where credit is due is TG Daily.
"TG Daily learned that AMD is reducing its workforce by another 5%", writes Wolfgang Gruener a couple of hours after the INQ broke the story.
"Sources are now telling us that AMD decided to silently wipe 5% from its workforce of almost 16,719 people".
Hmm, who can these sources be we wonder? Well, in fact we know, don't we Wolfgang?
Meanwhile, elsewhere in Cyberspace, wizened old hack Guy Kewney has a fit of of conspiriacy theorising over the fact we called called a certain Mike Magee a Wall Street Journal reader.
Guy writes: "We all know Mad Mike Magee: co-founder of the Register, founder of the Inquirer. So why is this story on the Inq being so coy about who he is? Why not "former Editor of the Inquirer"?
Perhaps, Guy, because: "We all know Mike Magee".
Guy goes on to weave some tale out of nothing and even describes your correspondent as a "nervous-sounding Inqling", as he tries to second guess Magee's next move.
As Mike said this morning: "All he had to do was ask me." µ
