T-shirt maker aims at trendy singles
A FASHION design house has discovered a way of combining T-shirt sales with dating and the latest mobile tech – QR codes. Initially called Getwickd.com, it's now know as W-41.com.
The idea is very simple. Trendy people log onto their mobile site. They then download the app to their cameraphone from here. The app is actually the established Shotcode reader for QR codes. These are two-dimensional visual codes which can be read with a regular cameraphone.
This is the INQUIRER's QR code
You then sign up for the service and decide exactly where you'd like your QR code to point. For example, it could be the mobile version of your Facebook, Myspace or Youtube account. The intention is to let potential partners know something about you before they send you a message.
Once you've got that set up – and if you don't have a suitable page, W-41.com has partnered with Mobisitegalore to help you create one – you can then start to order your trendy gear with your personalised QR code printed on it.
All you do then is sit in a singles bar and wait for somebody to spot the QR code. If necessary you can take their email or mobile number and send them the instructions for get the Shotcode reader.
The INQ thinks this will catch on as the Shotcode reader works very well. The only problem for W-41.com is that nerds will work out how to create the QR codes themselves and print them on their own T-shirts. µ

Tisk.
You seem to be confusing two things, QR codes, which are all free and usable by individuals in ways they choose, and these 'shotcodes' which seem to be a gimmick based on the concept to milk money from people that seem to have too much of the stuff. But at least you got your barmoney heh.

Work out?
Don't you mean worked out, very past tense?http://mobilecodes.nokia.com/
The N95 has a built in reader which works very well, so about 2 seconds after discovering that, I discovered the program to generate them.
ummm... no
All fine and great, but I don't think I'd want to date a woman who even knows what a "QR code" is.QR Code Generator
A nifty way to generate QR Codes is with Google's Chart Server http://2d-code.co.uk/qr-code-google-charts-api/undocumented chart api commands
